Why this story matters
Before today’s headlines,
there was a beginning.
The Sports Encounter began around 2010, when Jawad Hussain, his brother, and a friend set out to build a sports publication. Surviving pages record its development from an early WordPress site into a multi-sport portal with an international contributor network.
The original operation eventually stopped amid difficulties the founder recalls as technical attacks, advertising problems, and lost visibility. The exact closure date remains uncertain. In 2026, Hussain revived the editorial project at thesportsencounter.com through a new publication and technical operation.
This ten-part history brings the surviving pages together with his testimony. It recognizes the contributors who helped build the publication and distinguishes what the archive shows from what is remembered or still unresolved.

The people behind the pages
A newsroom is more than a masthead.
The original Workforce page preserves a geographically varied contributor network. Jawad Hussain recalls that most contributors volunteered their time and specialist interests.
We acknowledge that collective effort without inventing a definitive roster from small, difficult-to-read archive text. Read The People Behind the Headlines for the fuller account, or meet today’s contributors.
Two addresses. An interrupted history.
The ambition returned in 2026.
The founding newsroom used sportsencounter.com. Today’s publication operates at thesportsencounter.com after an interruption. Later activity at the former address should not automatically be attributed to the founding team.

A transparent historical record
About the evidence
This series brings together original screenshots supplied by the founder, surviving public records, and his testimony. A page date is not necessarily an archive capture date. Missing images or styles can reflect archive replay rather than the experience of the original audience.
The archive does not establish historical audience totals, the identity of attackers, or the grounds of Google actions. Recollections and unresolved details remain clearly attributed in the relevant episodes. Read our Editorial Policy and Corrections Policy for the standards guiding the publication.
