This agreement protects readers, contributors, commercial partners, and The Sports Encounter by setting clear expectations before content is submitted or published.

It explains how we handle originality, ownership, editing, links, sponsored content, AI-assisted material, images, corrections, takedowns, publication decisions, and contributor responsibilities.

For writing standards and pitching guidance, please also read our Write for Us page. For wider editorial standards, please review our Editorial Policy.

No Guaranteed Publication

Submitting content does not guarantee publication.

The Sports Encounter may accept, reject, edit, delay, archive, remove, or decline any submission at its sole editorial discretion.

We may reject content for many reasons, including weak quality, factual concerns, poor sourcing, lack of originality, irrelevant links, promotional intent, legal risk, duplication, unsafe claims, or mismatch with our editorial direction.

Originality Requirement

All submitted content must be original, accurate, and created or lawfully submitted by the contributor.

By submitting content, you confirm that:

  • The content is your original work or you have the legal right to submit it
  • The content does not copy, scrape, spin, or plagiarize another source
  • The content has not been generated or rewritten from another article without meaningful original value
  • The content does not infringe on copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights
  • The content does not contain fake quotes, fake statistics, fabricated sources, or misleading claims

If content has appeared elsewhere, you must disclose that before submission. The Sports Encounter may choose not to publish previously published content.

Plagiarism and Duplicate Content

The Sports Encounter does not knowingly publish plagiarized, copied, scraped, spun, or duplicated content.

If plagiarism or duplication is discovered before publication, the submission may be rejected.

If plagiarism or duplication is discovered after publication, we may edit, remove, correct, unpublish, or take other action without prior notice.

Contributors are responsible for ensuring that submitted work is original and properly attributed.

Accuracy and Fact-Checking

Contributors are responsible for the accuracy of the content they submit.

Sports content often includes names, scores, fixtures, dates, venues, rankings, records, quotes, injuries, suspensions, selections, transfers, tournament rules, and statistics. These details must be checked carefully before submission.

Where facts are involved, contributors should use reliable sources, including official leagues, teams, clubs, federations, tournament organizers, ranking bodies, verified statements, official match centers, scorecards, and reputable sports news sources.

The Sports Encounter may fact-check, edit, request sources, add sources, remove unsupported claims, or reject content if accuracy cannot be verified.

If a published article requires correction, clarification, update, or removal, we may handle it under our Corrections Policy.

Contributor Responsibility

By submitting content, the contributor accepts responsibility for the submitted material.

This includes responsibility for:

  • Accuracy of facts, statistics, quotes, and claims
  • Originality of the submitted work
  • Proper attribution of external information
  • Legal right to submit text, images, videos, graphics, or other media
  • Compliance with applicable laws and platform rules
  • Avoiding defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, misleading, or unsafe content

AI-Assisted Content

Contributors may use AI tools for research organization, outlining, grammar checks, headline ideas, summaries, or drafting support.

However, AI-assisted content must be reviewed, fact-checked, rewritten, edited, and improved by a human before submission.

The Sports Encounter does not accept raw AI-generated articles, automated rewrites, unsupported claims, fake citations, fabricated quotes, unnatural phrasing, generic summaries, or content that lacks real editorial judgment.

By submitting AI-assisted content, the contributor confirms that they have reviewed and verified the work and accept responsibility for its accuracy, originality, and quality.

Editing Rights

The Sports Encounter reserves the right to edit any accepted submission before or after publication.

Editing may include:

  • Changing the headline
  • Improving the introduction
  • Reworking structure and headings
  • Fixing grammar, spelling, and readability
  • Adding, editing, or removing internal links
  • Adding, editing, or removing external links
  • Removing unsupported claims
  • Adding source attribution
  • Improving SEO details, tags, excerpts, and meta descriptions
  • Reducing repetition, filler, or promotional language

We may edit content to protect accuracy, clarity, reader value, legal safety, search quality, editorial consistency, and brand standards.

Publication Rights

By submitting content that is accepted for publication, you grant The Sports Encounter permission to publish, edit, format, display, distribute, promote, excerpt, archive, update, republish, and use the content on The Sports Encounter and related channels.

This may include use on our website, social media channels, newsletters, promotional material, article previews, category pages, search snippets, and future editorial packages.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, The Sports Encounter may keep published content live for as long as it remains useful, accurate, relevant, or commercially appropriate.

Content Ownership

Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, contributors retain ownership of their original written work, while The Sports Encounter receives the right to publish, edit, promote, archive, and display the accepted content.

For paid, sponsored, commissioned, or commercial content, ownership and usage rights may be handled separately depending on the agreed terms.

Any separate ownership arrangement must be confirmed in writing before publication.

By submitting profile information, you confirm that it is accurate and that you have the right to provide any profile image or linked material.

Published contributor profiles may also appear on our Our Contributors page or author archive pages.

Links in Submitted Content

Links are reviewed carefully before publication.

The Sports Encounter may accept links to official sources, reliable news outlets, author bios, relevant professional profiles, governing bodies, clubs, leagues, tournament pages, sports data sources, or approved commercial pages.

We may remove or reject links that are irrelevant, unsafe, misleading, spammy, promotional, low-quality, paid without disclosure, or added only for search manipulation.

Published links may be edited, removed, changed, marked sponsored, marked nofollow, or updated at any time.

Sponsored Submissions

Sponsored submissions, paid guest posts, brand-led content, native content, and commercial articles must be disclosed before review.

Commercial content must be relevant to sports audiences and must meet The Sports Encounter’s standards for accuracy, transparency, clarity, and reader value.

Sponsored content may be clearly labeled for readers.

Payment or sponsorship does not guarantee publication unless a separate agreement has been confirmed. The Sports Encounter may reject commercial content that does not meet editorial, legal, brand safety, or audience standards.

Sponsored submissions are also governed by our Sponsored Policy. If a submission includes affiliate links, referral links, partner links, or sponsored recommendations, please also review our Affiliate Disclosure.

Corrections, Updates, and Removals

The Sports Encounter may correct, update, clarify, edit, remove, or unpublish submitted content after publication.

This may happen if content becomes outdated, contains factual errors, includes legal concerns, violates this agreement, creates reader confusion, includes problematic links, or no longer meets our editorial standards.

Readers and contributors can report possible errors by contacting us at info@thesportsencounter.com.

For more details, please read our Corrections Policy.

Editorial Independence

The Sports Encounter maintains editorial independence over all submitted and published content.

Contributors, advertisers, agencies, brands, PR teams, sponsors, or commercial partners may suggest topics or submit drafts, but final editorial control remains with The Sports Encounter.

We decide what to publish, edit, reject, update, remove, label, link, or promote.

Payment Terms

The Sports Encounter does not guarantee payment for unsolicited pitches, guest posts, contributor submissions, or article drafts.

If payment terms are not confirmed in writing, no payment should be assumed.

Legal and Third-Party Claims

Contributors are responsible for ensuring their submissions do not violate third-party rights or applicable laws.

If a submitted article, image, link, claim, or media asset creates a legal issue, copyright complaint, trademark concern, privacy complaint, defamation claim, or other dispute, The Sports Encounter may remove or edit the content and may contact the contributor for clarification.

By submitting content, you agree that The Sports Encounter may take reasonable action to protect the website, readers, editorial team, and platform reputation.
