Cook Leaves Southern Brave in Immediate Trouble

Phil Salt chose to field and received an almost immediate return from his attack.

Chris Woakes removed Ben McKinney for a duck from the third ball. Sam Cook then dismissed Jamie Smith, also without scoring, four deliveries later. Southern Brave found themselves at 2 for 2, with their top order damaged before it had tested the Cardiff surface.

Cook’s control created the problem. He attacked a tight channel, denied the batters easy width and forced Brave to spend too many deliveries rebuilding. His 20-ball spell contained 13 dots and cost only 14 runs.
